How much does an overnight trip to San Blas cost?
Prices depend on the island, accommodation and number of nights. San Blas Camping costs USD 135.00 per person for one night, or USD 90.00 per person per night for stays of two or more nights. Compare the island options above for cabin and package prices. Applicable taxes, Guna entry fees and optional extras are additional.
Can you stay overnight in the San Blas Islands?
Yes. You can book an overnight island stay with shared or private accommodation, or choose camping. Available facilities, age restrictions and excursion inclusions vary by experience.
Which San Blas island is best to stay on?
For a social atmosphere, consider Franklin Island. For a small, peaceful stay, consider Pelicano Island. For overwater accommodation, compare Perro Chico, Yanis and Misdub. For a budget stay, San Blas Camping on Pelicano offers a private tent with a bed and bedding. The best choice depends on your budget, who you’re traveling with and the accommodation you prefer. Check each experience’s age restrictions, facilities and inclusions before booking.
Can I book a private cabin or room?
Yes. Several islands offer private cabins or rooms, and some offer overwater accommodation. Compare the options above and check occupancy and bathroom arrangements on the individual island page.
How many nights can I stay?
Available stay lengths depend on the island and accommodation. Open your chosen experience to check dates and the number of nights available. Contact us if the length you want is not offered online.
Are island excursions included?
Some stays include excursions, while others offer them as paid extras. The number of included visits can depend on your island and length of stay. Check the selected experience for its inclusions; routes and schedules may change with local arrangements and conditions.
Are there vegan options on the islands?
Meals follow each island’s menu for the day, and each island page explains what its kitchen can offer. Tell the island staff your requests and any allergies when you arrive. Some islands have no vegetarian protein options such as tofu or soy; there, vegans can have a double portion of the sides, such as rice, beans and salad, in place of the chicken, meat or fish. We recommend that vegetarians and vegans bring their own snacks.
What should I pack for a night in San Blas?
There are no ATMs on the islands, so bring enough cash in US dollars. Pack your original passport, cash for the Guna Border Fee ($22 for foreign visitors, $7 for Panama residents, free for ages 0–9) and island purchases, drinking water, swimwear, a beach towel, toiletries, bug repellent, a dry bag and a power bank. Camping tents come set up with a bed and bedding, so you don’t need camping gear. Check the San Blas weather forecast before you go.
