Yes. Both group cabins and private cabins accept solo bookings. Franklin Island has a social atmosphere, and it is one of the few islands in the area where one traveller can reserve a private cabin.

Group cabins have single beds and typically sleep 6–8 guests. Private cabins have a double bed, plus extra beds for a third and fourth guest, and typically sleep 2–4. Every cabin uses public shared bathrooms; there are no private bathrooms inside the cabins.

Neither, exactly. The showers on the islands are very basic and rustic. The water is taken from the ocean and goes through an underground treatment process, then it’s pumped up to the showers, so it isn’t salt water, but it isn’t fully fresh water like you’d find in a hotel or city either.

Prices are per person, plus 7% tax. A group cabin costs USD 180.00 for 1 night, or USD 120.00 per night for stays of 2 nights or more. A private cabin costs USD 200.00 for 1 night, or USD 140.00 per night for stays of 2 nights or more.

Swim around the island, play volleyball, make artisan crafts with the locals and join bonfires in the evening. There are no kayaks or paddle boards, and snorkelling is only part of the optional excursions.

There are no set hours for showers or device charging, and the electricity schedule may vary, so check with island staff when you arrive. Wi-Fi is generally available on the island while the generators are on, but once they’re turned off at night there’s no signal until the next day. Mobile signal varies a lot by island, location, time of day and weather, and phone reception in and around the islands is generally very weak.

Yes. The price includes round-trip shared 4x4 SUV transport, with pickup at your hotel in Panama City and drop-off there or at Tocumen International Airport, Albrook Airport or Albrook Bus Terminal at no extra cost, and round-trip boat transport between the port and Franklin Island. Life jackets are provided on the boat.

We pick you up and drop you off at hotels, hostels and Airbnb in and around Panama City. When you book, search for your pickup location and the booking system will tell you whether it’s inside our pickup area. Pickups from the Westin Playa Bonita or Dreams Playa Bonita cost an extra USD 10.00 per person. You can change your pickup location up to 24 hours before your trip; changes on the morning of the trip aren’t possible. After your trip, we can also drop you off at Tocumen International Airport, Albrook Airport or Albrook Bus Terminal at no extra cost. Just let us know when you leave the islands so we can arrange it.

Yes. Meals on Franklin Island are included according to the itinerary, along with one juice, soda or water per meal. The menu depends on the day’s availability and usually includes rice, vegetables, chicken, fish, potatoes, beans and fruit, with a vegetarian option. Island staff tell you the options. Bring additional drinking water.

Each included meal comes with 1 drink: water, juice or soda. If you’d like more, you can buy extra drinks on the island.

No. The roadside breakfast stop at around 6:30 AM is optional, and you may buy food there if you wish.

Each excursion costs USD 25.00 per person. One-night stays allow one excursion, two-night stays allow up to two, and stays of 3 nights or more allow up to three. Exact excursion names and details are confirmed on the island.

Each excursion visits 3 islands and stops at a natural pool, with time to snorkel. Snorkelling masks are available during tours only, and life jackets are provided. Excursions must be selected and paid for while booking, and can’t be added on the day of your trip. On multi-night stays or with multiple excursions, some islands may be repeated. The guide confirms the exact islands, routes and departure times when you arrive, as they depend on weather and daily logistics.

Late checkout costs USD 35.00 per person, includes lunch and leaves Franklin Island at 3:00 PM. Add it and pay for it while booking, as it can’t be added on the day of your trip. After you vacate the cabin at 9:00 AM, island staff show you where to leave your luggage.

With standard checkout, you normally reach Panama City between 12:00 and 1:00 PM. With paid late checkout, you normally return between 7:00 and 7:30 PM.

No. The Guna Border Fee is $22 for foreign visitors and $7 for Panama residents, and it is not included in the trip price.

Yes. You’re welcome to bring your own alcohol, drinks and snacks for your stay.

Yes. Island staff can prepare eggs with other foods such as rice, beans, potatoes, fries, salads and fruit, among other options. What’s available varies from island to island, so tell the staff your requests when you arrive. There are no vegetarian protein options such as tofu or soy products. Vegans can have a double portion of the sides, such as rice, beans and salad, in place of the chicken, meat or fish. We recommend that vegetarians and vegans bring their own snacks, food and drinks to have during and between meals.

No. Franklin is a social, adults-only island experience. Kids are not allowed on this island.

Starfish are usually around the natural pool, but they won’t always be there, so sightings aren’t guaranteed.
