How to Get to San Blas Islands from Panama City

• 5:00–5:20 a.m.: pickup from an eligible Panama City location.
• Around 5:30 a.m.: departure from the city.
• Around 6:30 a.m.: a planned gas-station stop.
• Around 7:15 a.m.: passport verification at the regional entrance.
• 8:25–8:45 a.m.: estimated arrival at the port.

Your boat journey and the day's activities follow. This schedule is for our Pelicano experience; use the pickup details for your own reservation if you choose another trip. Traffic, weather, sea conditions and local logistics can affect the timing.

We recommend being ready at the start of your pickup window. That gives you time to gather your belongings and meet the driver without a last-minute rush.

Can we pick you up after an airport arrival?

If you are flying into Tocumen, we recommend spending the night in Panama City before a standard early departure to San Blas. You will have time to collect your bags, reach your accommodation and rest before the road trip.

Before choosing a hotel for that night, ask us about pickup coverage. Staying somewhere that works with your transfer makes the next morning easier.

Want to continue directly from the airport? Send us your flight details so we can check whether a suitable arrangement is available. Landing time is only the start of your arrival: immigration, baggage collection and reaching the meeting point also take time. Airport-terminal pickup and pickup at a nearby hotel are different arrangements, so let us know which you need.

Connecting from Bocas del Toro, David or Boquete

If San Blas follows another stop in Panama, plan to reach Panama City before joining us for the island transfer. Choose your flight or ground journey into the city first, then share your arrival plans with us.

From Bocas del Toro, check which airport your flight uses and how you will reach your accommodation. From David or Boquete, allow time for the whole journey into the city. An overnight stop gives you a chance to rest, repack and get ready for the early pickup.

Check baggage allowances with each provider, especially when combining a domestic flight with road and boat transfers. We can help with the San Blas portion of your plans; your airline or ground transport provider should confirm its own schedules and baggage rules.

Driving yourself or considering a flight

If you would like to drive, remember that the road ends on the mainland and you will still need boat transportation.
